Schedule of Classes - March

Adult Beginning Knitting:

Thursday March 1st, 8th and 15th 5:30 to 7:30

Learn how to cast on, knit, purl, yarn-over and bind off while creating a washcloth in this three session class. The class will also cover the importance of gauge, needle size, reading a label and the difference in weights of yarn.

Skill Level: Excited and Eager to learn

Materials needed” Size 8 needles and one skein worsted weight yarn.

2 Socks on 2 Circulars:

Tuesday March 6th and 20th 5:30 to 7:30

Do you have second sock syndrome, or just tried of double points, learn this technique of making two socks at the same time. The first session will be casting on and knitting the cuff, next week will be turning the heel and continuing with the foot. This technique can also be used to make two sleeves for sweaters.

Homework: Make a 4x4 gage swatch

Skill: Familiar with all techniques with making socks.

Materials: Two 24” with size 4 circular needles different in color or material, sport weight yarn.

Beyond the Knit Stitch Workshop:

Thursday March 22nd 5:30 to 7:30

Do you only know the knit stitch or need a refresher on your knitting skills? Joanna will help you get ready for doing your next project.

Felted Clogs:

Saturday March 24th and 31st 10:30 to 12:30

Using the Fiber Trends clog pattern Joanna will teach you “short rows”, “picking up stitches” and “ three needle bind off” while making these warm slippers that are great fun on hardwood floors….(pattern included)

Skill: Know how to knit, purl and cast on

Materials: Fiber Trends pattern, size 13 24” circular needle and yarn for appropriate size you’ll be making.

Basic Cable Workshop:

Thursday March 29th 5:30 to 7:30

Take the mystery out of cables and learn three different cable techniques that you can integrate in many knitted items.

Skill: Know how to knit, purl and cast on.

Materials: Worsted weight yarn, appropriate needle size and a cable needle or one double point needle the same size or one size smaller.

I love my felted clog slippers, they are so soft and comfy. They are a challenge at first but after the first pair they work up fast and make the best presents
